Description:
This is a map of the western portion of Turkey. Side 1 covers from the border with Greece to a town called Eskisehir, and includes an inset of central Istanbul. This is the most-visited part of Turkey, by far. Including the Sea of Marmora, the site of Troy, the Dardanelles, and the historic city of Bursa. Side 2 covers the southern coastline that we call Anatolya (but should be Anatalya) and the western-facing Izmir coast. This is very popular with cruise ships, as it accesses the ancient Greek city of Ephesus, one of the most complete ancient cities in the world. Izmir, called Smyrna historically, and the home of female Amazon warriors, is a fascinating city to explore. This part of Turkey is full of Greek and Roman ruins and is the most developed part of the country. The map also has a Top Attractions list and capsule comments to assist users in exploring a wonderful country.
